Burn Sports Youth Programs take an integrated approach to training, nutrition and recovery needs of developing athletes.  Burn Sports Youth Programs are based in the most current scientific research in pediatric exercise physiology, corrective high performance exercise kinesiology and holistic health and nutrition.  The success of our young athletes is based in our foundational principles, an intelligent model of progressive training, positive coaching skills and the delivery of safe and effective programs in a fun and healthy atmosphere.

Long term success in athletic development allows the young athlete to develop in a way that is psychologically healthy and in accordance with their own natural physical progression.  Specific skills are best learned at certain ages and there are gender differences which are essential for proper development.  Although, Burn Sports Youth Programs follow a scientific strategy and have been broken down into age-specific groups, all athletes are encouraged to develop their own style of self-expression naturally in order to maximize results.  The end result is a healthy and successful athlete who continues to perform at high levels and reap the many benefits of sports for the rest of their lives. and not burn out after high school as the majority of American youth athletes do.  The alarming rate of athlete injury and dropout due to excessive parental pressure and poor training or coaching methods is shameful.  Burn Sports offers an alternative.

Shorty Sports (ages 6-10)
This foundational stage of the model introduces children to fundamental movement skills and coordination, overall physical fitness and general concepts of athleticism.  Correct techniques in running, jumping, throwing and catching are introduced.  Exercise is strictly bodyweight and the use of balls and games is emphasized.

Youth Sports (ages 10-14)
This stage of the model is considered the most critical time for skill development.  Although training is still general in nature, young athletes now have an ideal time to refine skills such as balance, coordination, agility and speed.  Structured strength training is introduced along with proper warm up, flexibility, recovery and nutrition.

High School Athletes (ages 14-18)
This stage improves the technical or tactical elements and skills related to particular sports are introduced.  Specialization and Periodization are introduced and a focus on individual strengths and weaknesses helps to further define the athlete.

Nutrition and stress management techniques to prepare young athletes for the demands of training and competition are emphasized appropriately during each stage of development.
